Q. How is this printer different to any other?
Where should we start? This printer offers so much more - apart from the obvious cost advantages to both you and your customer, the high quality output, processing speed and extra software complete the package.
Q. We are a Software House - why would we want to offer another manufacturer's software?
Because this software adds many additional features without any extra investment. Being a graphics printer, the TSP100 lends itself to adding feature rich content to receipts without any reduction in performance.
Q. Will it work on any operating system? Our customer is currently using Java-POS but may be changing to Windows XP embedded.
The concept behind the TSP100 was to create a printer which could be used universally across multiple platforms. The simple installation set-up tool will allow you to set-up or change mass-installations without even taking the printer out of the box.
Q. Can the TSP100 futurePRNT software be easily integrated?
The dedicated modular SDK (Software developers Kit) with a wide range of tools available allows the system designer to take advantage of all the TSP100’s software and hardware features. This is facilitated with the “Drag & Drop” Software Feature Tool, which uses Active X components for Star Printer feature inclusion into OEM software.

Q. Why is this printer any different to any other?
Where should we start? This printer allows you to offer your customers so much more - apart from the obvious cost advantages, you can offer your customer a printer that is truly different and which will grow with their needs. Q. How can Star reduce my customer's installation costs?
The Star PC based Pre-Installation Set-Up tool can mirror all hardware and software printer settings without even taking the printer out of the box. This, plus the fact that the printer comes with all accessories and software needed, will make the administration so much easier when only half the installation needs to be wall mounted etc.
Q. Why should I supply printers from Star Micronics?
Because Star has been manufacturing receipt printers for over 40 years and does not want to become your competitor by offering POS systems!

Q. Our customers want to keep using the same receipt printer they have ALWAYS used?
Don't they all! However our experience has also shown us that as soon as they have seen this printer, checked out the cost advantages they are then happy to re-evaluate their buying process!
Q. Will the futurePRNT software work with my customer's POS software? We have already set-up all the reports etc.......
No problem. All the software tools are designed to work with and alongside current software. Contact our sales team if you have any concerns in this area.

Again, no problem. Many of our highest profile accounts have come to us due to our proven compatibility record. The TSP100 will work with all levels of Windows from 98 onwards and is the only POS printer to have WHQL certification. Linux, MAC etc. no problem. Click here for more support information.
Q. Speed is an issue for my customer and he thinks that this printer is not fast enough!
An understandable question, but please double-check the performance page and don't forget the new TSP100GT prints at a very fast 250 mm/second.
